This is a great little preserve where many butterflies have been spotted. The Little Metalmark has been seen many times here. The preserve does have a tendency to retain water on the trails after a rain, but there are plenty of areas to walk around before reaching the wet areas.

Directions:
From North: I-75 Exit 200 – SR 681 south toward Venice/Osprey. Go south on SR 681, go right on Honore. Entrance and parking on left.
From South: Take U.S. 41 N to Central Sarasota Pkwy, go right to Honore Avenue, go right to entrance.
Note: For a happier field trip, wear closed-toe shoes and bring water, bug spray, sunscreen and/or hats and binoculars (optional).
