About NABA and Our Local Chapter

  • The North American Butterfly Association (NABA) is a national, non-profit organization, working to promote the public enjoyment and conservation of butterflies. The organization is interested in all aspects of recreational, non-consumptive (i.e. netless) butterfly appreciation, including butterfly gardening, identification, observation, photography and conservation.

  •  NABA members are invited to participate in the Annual 4th of July Butterfly Counts (held in May in Florida). The counts are an excellent way for beginners and experts to increase their knowledge of butterfly identification and to contribute to this important study measuring the health of the environent.

  • NABA holds Biennial Meetings and meetings of the local chapters which members are welcome to attend

Our Chapter Members Receive:

    • NEW - discounts at local plant nurseries to our members in good standing
    • The monthly newsletter of the NABA Sarasota County Butterfly Club

    • American Butterflies Magazine, a beautiful color magazine with fascinating photos and articles

What a great website and video! I’d love to join the local chapter here in Sarasota. I am already a member of NABA.
